NMR SERVICE develops customised solid-state NMR/NQR probes for any magnet/cryostat type and size including wide- and standard/narrow-bore superconducting magnets, electromagnets, liquid Helium/Nitrogen or cryogen-free cryostat systems. We are experts for customised in situ/operando NMR probes to combine electrochemical and solid-state NMR investigations on battery materials; please check ePROBE for more information on battery analysis technology solutions. Our strong expertise also lies with low-temperature NMR/NQR probes down to liquid Helium temperatures for any magnet/cryostat system. Our high-temperature probes reach up to 800°C. Furthermore, we build customised MAS probes including LED MAS applications and have various solutions for NQR probes, e.g. NQR Table Top probes. In situ / static NMR

We build static wideline/broadband probes for NMR in fields of 100 to 700 MHz.

Options include:

  • Single- or double-channel (multi-channel subject to discussion)
  • Automatic tune/match
  • Magnetic fields beyond 700 MHz
  • Single- or double-axis goniometer (manual or automatic)
  • Low-temperature probes down to liquid Helium
  • High-temperature probes up to 800°C
  • Customised in situ/operando NMR probes; all details on battery analysis technology solutions via ePROBE
  • In situ optics NMR probes

LED MAS 3.2 NMR

We build LED MAS 3.2 mm NMR probes that allow sample illumination while spinning; i.e. combining optics and NMR experiments.

  • Fields: 300/89 to 600/89 MHz (wide-bore only)
  • Single- or double-channel (H—X or F—X)
  • Stator: Bruker-type DVT type 3.2 mm made of Vespel
  • Suited/designed for Bruker-type 3.2 mm rotors (zirconia or sapphire)
  • Eight holes inside the stator to hold up to four glass fibres
  • Adapters for up to four glass fibres, e.g. 0.4 mm outer diameter
  • Compatible with any light source, e.g. Thorlabs LED modules
  • Compatible with our LED CONTROLLER
  • Option: various MAS accessories incl. our rotor cap remover tool
  • Option: automatic tune/match via eATM ROBOT

MAS NMR

We build MAS NMR probes for fields of 100 to 700 MHz.

Options include:

  • Stator: Bruker DVT type 2.5, 3.2, 4.0, or 7.0 mm made of Vespel
  • Stator: Phoenix NMR/Varian pencil type of any dimension
  • Single- or double-channel (H—X or F—X)
  • Triple-channel probes are subject to discussion
  • Automatic tune/match
  • Magnetic fields beyond 700 MHz
  • LED MAS NMR probes combining optics and NMR experiments while spinning
  • 3D printed stator/rotor modules

Low-temperature NMR/NQR

We build static low-temperature probes for NMR/NQR for any application.

Options include:

  • Temperature range 1.5 to 425 K
  • Temperature stability 0.1 K
  • Internal Cernox temperature sensor
  • Compatible with any temperature controller, e.g. Lakeshore
  • Suitable for any cryostat/magnet system including PPMS
  • Suitable for cryogen-free cryostat/magnet systems
  • Suitable for close-circle cryostat/magnet systems
  • RF/tuning range optimised as specified by the user
  • Wideline/broadband or ultra-wideline frequency range
  • Single- or double-channel
  • Automatic tune/match

High/variable-temperature NMR

We build static high/variable-temperature NMR probes for various applications.

Options include:

  • Temperature range -100 to 300°C
  • Ultra-high temperature range up to 800°C (water-cooled sample area)
  • Increased heater capacity, isolation, and temperature shielding
  • Adaption of materials close to sample area (Vespel)
  • Heating: dry air or nitrogen gas
  • Cooling: cooled nitrogen gas (e.g. LN2 exchanger, BCU, etc.)
  • Frame flush/cooling
  • Compatible with any heater system, e.g. Bruker BVT or ours
  • Compatible with any temperature controller, e.g. Bruker or ours
  • Multiple internal temperature sensors
  • Temperature sensor: Type N thermocouple (Bruker compatible; others possible)
  • Heat gas exhaust with temperature sensor
